The Workforce Development department of the Long Beach Community College District is seeking highly-qualified individuals to be our Program Director, Climate Resiliency Programs, is responsible for the administration and implementation grant initiative programs to identify workforce needs and gaps, and facilitate the implementation of skills training and job placement programs. The incumbent provides administrative and grant management and coordination on program activities. Assignments are broad in scope and allow for a high degree of administrative discretion in their execution.
The Program Director, Climate Resiliency Programs is distinguished from other professional District classes in that an incumbent in the former class is responsible for managing and administering District-wide clean energy training programs and services.
The successful candidate will need to:

- exhibit exceptional customer service skills, business communication, project management, and organizational skills
- have the ability to build rapport with internal and external stakeholders across the District and lead a diverse team
AT-A-GLANCE POSITION INFORMATION
- Type of position: Full time (40 hours/week)
- Position Status: Permanent
- Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:30- 5pm, some evenings and weekends required
- Location: Will support both campuses, but could be located at either the Liberal Arts Campus (LAC) or Trades, Technology, and Community Learning Campus (TTC)
- Salary: Range 10, $115,069.00 - $156,783.00 Annually
- Eligibility list: Will be valid for 6 months once approved or ratified by the Personnel Commission. We reserve the right to use the established eligibility list for vacancies (permanent and temporary) in this classification as well as related classifications.
- Advanced salary placement: Generally, new employees start at the first step on the salary schedule. Advanced salary placement may be considered on a case-by-case basis.

Duties
GENERAL PURPOSE
Under the direction of the Director, Workforce Development or assigned administrator, the Project Director, Climate Resiliency Programs administers and implements activity related to specific workforce development grants and special projects associated with climate resiliency and clean energy, and performs related duties as assigned.

Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS FOR THIS POSITION:
Education, Training and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in sustainability, environmental science, public policy, urban planning, or a related field, and five (5) years of experience in project management in the climate sector with one (1) of those years serving in a supervisor or lead capacity; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Master's degree preferred.
Licenses; Certificates; Special Requirements:
A valid California driver's license and the ability to maintain insurability under the District's vehicle insurance policy.
Meeting the minimum requirements of the position does not guarantee advancement in the selection process. Candidate qualifications will be assessed to determine those who meet and exceed requirements and are deemed most competitive amongst the applicant pool to proceed.
